Beautiful Mind--Well for my days of academic lows, this movie has helped. Despite his multiple personality disorder,John Nash was able to win a Nobel Prize in Economics and set game theory in action. (I should keep myself busy in economics to get over my ex.)
I learned from the best ( Whitney Houston), I love this song. it empowers me really, whenever I think abt the face of my silly ex when he will ask to take me back, cuz I have a strong feeling he will.
just wanted to share with you, what a young woman diagnosed with mental retardation, autism and post traumatic stress disorder( due to years of mental, physical and sexual abuse by her father) told me and her peers in group today.
"believe in yourself, believe you can do anything even when it seems impossible... know that there isn't anything that you can't do...but you have to believe in yourself"
David Cook *Come Back to Me*
One Republic *Come Home*
The Man Rules
At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down
Finally, the guys' side of the story.
( I must admit, it's pretty good.)
We always hear 'the rules'
From the female side
Now here are the rules from the male side.
These are our rules!
Please note.. these are all numbered '1 '
ON PURPOSE!
1. Men are NOT mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it dow n.
You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday sports It's like the full moon
or the changing of the tides.
Let it be.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1.. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do.
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are.
Don't ask us.
1.. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one
1. You can either ask us to do something
or tell us how you want it done.
Not both.
If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.
1. If it itches, it will be scratched..
We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say 'nothing,' We will act like nothing's wrong.
We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, Expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine... Really.
1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball or motor sports.< /P>
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!
1. Thank you for reading this.
Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight.
But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.
Pass this to as many men as you can -
to give them a laugh.
Pass this to as many women as you can -
to give them a bigger laugh
She's a Bad Mama Jama - Carl Carlton
Harder Better Faster Stronger - Daft Punk
I Want You Back - Jackson 5
Love Today - Mika
Say - John Mayer
The Shawshank Redemption was amazing in teaching me patience. To be blamed and judged unfairly and still make it, amazing. I have had a hard life and have always come out further ahead. The character that has formed because of hard times has given me an advantage.
Talk to me-Peter Gabriel
The Little Buddha, with Keanu Reeves believe it or not..really nice message
Thought I would add to this topic after listening to a song last night that I thought could really help us all (and for me was almost identical to my situation). It's "Because" by Jessica Mauboy. I recommend you all have a listen (on YouTube or whatever). Here are the lyrics:
(Verse1)
I waited for so long, you showed me you were the one,
I gave you my heart, right from the very start so,
Every time you lied, I knew inside
Get another chance, I was hurting, I was broken
I stayed to long and so that's why, you didn't think that I knew wrong
(Chorus)
It's all because, I loved you, (because) I held you, (because) I believed you,
You're not what I needed, (because) I'm stronger,
(Because) I'm better, (because) without ya, you'd thought I'd be in pieces,
Because, because, I loved ya, (because) I loved ya, (because) I loved ya
(Verse2)
You gave me, just one thing, for taking from the beginning
You left me, a heart ache, how much more could I take,
With every alibi, that made me cry, I still gave you more,
I should've given up, when I had had enough,
But I stayed to long, that's why, you didn't think that I knew wrong,
(Verse3)
I made a mistake of giving me to you,
I made a mistake of loving you, x4
These are lyrics to a song i mentioned...Laura Doyle ~ Let you Go...I LOVE this song!!
This is where my thoughts chase my tail
this is where I can’t help myself
and this is where I feel like I’ve failed again
And this is where I want retaliation
and if I could I’d steal your soul
and this is where I stop...
and I give in to love
And this is where I say I will always love you
and this is where I pray God be with you
and this is where I hold on to love
and let you go... and let you go
This is where I would offer forgiveness
and if I could I’d heal your soul
and this is where I start again
to love
And this is where I say I will always love you
and this is where I pray God be with you
and this is where I hold on to love
and let you go... and let you go
And where you’re going I can’t know
and how you’ll get there I can’t know
and if you really loved me
I’ll never know
I’ll never know
And this is where I say I will always love you
and this is where I pray God be with you
and this is where I hold on to love
and let you go... and let you go
Kate Voegele ~ Forever and Almost Always...Love this one too!!
So the story goes on down
The less traveled road
It's a variation on
The one I was told
And although it's not the same
It's awful close, yeah
In an ordinary fairy tale land
There's a promise of a perfect happy end
And I imagine having just short of that
Is better than nothing
So you'll be mine
Forever and almost always
And I'll be fine
Just love me when you can, yeah
And I'll wait patiently
I'll wake up everyday
Just hoping that you still care
In the corner of my mind I know too well
Oh, that surely even I deserve the best
But instead of leaving
I just put the issue to bed
And outta my head
Oh, and just when I believe
You've changed for good
Well, you go and prove me wrong
Just like I knew you would
When I run out of second chances
You give me that look
And you're off the hook
Because you're mine
Forever and almost always
Oh, and I'm fine
Just love me when you can
And I'll wait patiently
I'll wake up everyday
Just hoping that you'll still care
Oh, oh,
What am I still doing here
Oh, oh,
It's all becoming so clear
You'll be mine
Forever and almost always
It ain't right
To just love me when you can, Oh
I won't wait patiently
Or wake up everyday
Just hoping that you'll still care
Forever and almost always
No it ain't right
To just love me when you can, baby
Ain't gonna wait patiently
I won't wake up everyday
Just hoping that you care
Haha they're both great and so true! I have a quote on my FB page and it is: When words fail, music speaks. Which I think is also extremely true!
Ezza...i sooo agree with your FB quote...i couldn't live without music...there is always some song or lyrics that suit my mood at anytime....
I know right!?
"The Love Letter" is inspirational. It's a romantic comedy from the early 90's. Great story starring Kate Capshaw and Tom Selleck. Ellen Degenres is also in it. It's a great story about the timing of love and how we can't choose who we love or when we love them, and how all works out in the end. Rent it and you will be cheered up!
"Mr. Blue Sky" is getting me up in the mornings
if anyone's feeling like crap and needs a pick-me-up just listen to lily allen's smile
i know it makes my day a little brighter haha
For the last break up I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Monsters vs. Aliens, 500 Days of Summer and The Hangover..its kinda fun to see other people go thru what you are/did and really be okay (if not better) in the end
Cashback.
It's available on youtube.
It's about some young fella who has just been dumped and the movie shows how he gets over it.
Quite a good film which helped me get over the ex. However, when they all of a sudden started playing 'The Power of Love' by Frankie goes to Hollywood, the tears came.
Good movie though, i'd recommend it.
The movie Around the Bend with Michael Cain and Christopher Walken. It's about letting go of the past cause it's harmful to hold on. Great movie
Fireproof, best movie ever .. it's SO touching, though you have to have a little faith.
And the songs from Sidewalk Prophets, Warren Barfield and the songs from the movies Fireproof really keep me going.
Also Carrie Underwoods - What can I say is so beautiful, and propably true ..
x

Love
I am what I am - John Barrowman
David Cook - Time Of My Life
(this one made me feel so much better)
I been waiting for my dreams to turn into something I could believe in
And I'm looking for the magic rainbow on the horizon I couldn't see it
Until I let go, gave in love, watch all the bitterness burn
Now I'm coming alive body and soul
Feeling my world starts to turn
And I'll taste every moment and living out loud
I know this is the time; this is the time to be
More than a name or face in the crowd
I know this is the time; this is the time of my life
The time of my life
Holding onto things and vanish them to the air left me in pieces
But now I'm rising from the ashes finding my wings
And all that I needed was there all along within my reach
As close as the beat of my heart
And I'll taste every moment and living out loud
I know this is the time; this is the time to be
More than a name or face in the crowd
I know this is the time; this is the time of my life
The time of my life
A mouth on the edge of forever ready to roar
Keeping my feet on the ground my arms open wide faces the sun
And I'll taste every moment and living out loud
I know this is the time; this is the time to be
More than a name or face in the crowd
I know this is the time; this is the time of my life
The time of my life
More than a name or face in the crowd
I know this is the time; this is the time of my life
This is the time of my life
The time of my life!
TIME IS ON MY SIDE, YES IT IS...!
As I'm reading "The Last Lecture"; I would like to ask: Any chance to help me on making a list for
Inspirational Books?
Thank you all

Even though the title say Movies and Songs...I will add books as well...just post the author and titles here, and I will add them to the list.
I will also edit the topic title as well.
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Talk about No Contact...try three hundred years of NC and see how much you miss someone! Haha
I love this poem. Author is unknown:
LETTING GO
To let go doesn't mean to stop caring;
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off...
It's the realization that I can't control another...
To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try and change or blame another,
I can only change myself.
To let go is not to care for, but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.
To let go is not to be protective,
It is to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny, but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish the moment.
To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more.
Whitney Houston
song entitled "Salute"
This is a MUST listen to song.
You say you wanna walk away
you ain't got nothin' to say
I salute you, yeah
go on out the door
now, you take care
No more tears to shed
what, you expectin' me to beg?
well, I'm not. I'm done.
so when you just close the door behind you.
'cause...
(I'm feelin' kinda taller than you), lately
(I'm feelin' kinda stronger than you) ahh lately
(I'm feelin' kinda better than you)
and I know just what to dooo ooh
(I feel like doin' my hair) my hair
(I feel like callin' some of my friends)
some of my girlfriends
(I feel like goin' to a club) and partyin'
'cause I'm a soldier girl, in this world
I stand alone, I can be strong
I walked for miles, I made it home
it's good to know without you I made it
Soldier girl in my world
I took the fall, now I stand tall for the pain and all
I made it through and now all I got to say to you:
salute
salute
you think you know everything
and you think that your sh*t don't stink
well it do, heh, and when it comes to me
you don't have a clue
took me all of these years to realize that you don't belong here
I can do better
You say, 'I'll never do better"
yeah right, whatever
'cause
(I'm feelin' kinda taller than you) lately
(I'm feelin' kinda stronger than you) aah baby, lately
(I'm feelin' kinda better than you)
and I know just what to do, ooh woo ooh
(I feel like doing my hair) my hair
(I feel like callin' some of my friends) my girlfriends
(I feel like going to a club) do some partying!
So don't call it a comeback, nah
I been here for years
through all the drama and the pain and all of the tears
time to stop this roller coaster
see, I wanna get off
and start moving mountains, swimming seas and
climbing over walls!
another movie is love and basketball. one of my absolute favorite movies and it really makes you feel better about reconnection with an ex
Hey I would like to add some songs that are not listed that I think are motivational and personally help me on nights I cant sleep and all I want to do is just call him or see him.
Destiny's child-Survivor
The Supremes-You keep me Hangin on
Mary.J.Blige-I'm not gon cry
Whitney Houston-It's not right but it's ok
Joss Stone-Bruised But Not Broken
And I have to agree with the Christina Aguilera "fighter" and Kelly Clarkson "Since you been gone" as well as Gloria Gaynor "I will survive".
These songs are wonderful to listen to on those nights when you are tempted to just dial the person's number :)or need a quick pick me up on those hard days.

Just got these lyrics
Barely Breathing by Duncan Sheik
I know what you're doing,
I see it all to clear
I only taste the saline when I kiss away your tears
You really had me going, wishing on a star
But the black holes that surround you are heavier by far
I believed in your confusion, you were so completely torn
Well it must have been that yesterday was the day that I was born
There's not much to examine, there's nothing left to hide
You really can't be serious if you have to ask me why
I say good-bye...
Cause I am barely breathing
And I can't find the air
I don't know who I'm kidding
Imagining you care
And I could stand here waiting
A fool for another day
But I don't suppose it's worth the price, worth the price
The price that I would pay
Everyone keeps asking, what's it all about?
I used to be so certain and I can't figure out
What is this attraction? I only feel the pain
There's nothing left to reason and only you to blame Will it ever change?
Cause I am barely breathing
And I can't find the air
I don't know who I'm kidding
Imagining you care
And I could stand here waiting
A fool for another day
But I don't suppose it's worth the price, worth the price
The price that I would pay
But I'm thinking it over anyway...
I've come to find
I may never know
Your changing mind
Is it friend or foe?
I rise above
Or sink below
With every time
You come and go
Please don't come and go
Cause I am barely breathing
And I can't find the air
I don't know who I'm kidding
Imagining you care
And I could stand here waiting
A fool for another day
But I don't suppose it's worth the price, worth the price
The price that I would pay
But I'm thinking it over anyway

Incubus... I miss you.
To see you when I wake up
is a gift I didn't think could be real.
To know that you feel the same as I do
is a three-fold, utopian dream.
You do something to me that I can't explain.
So would I be out of line if I said,
I miss you.
I see your picture, I smell your skin on the empty pillow next to mine.
You have only been gone ten days, but already I'm wasting away.
I know I'll see you again
whether far or soon.
But I need you to know that I care
and I miss you.
